The Famicom port probably didn’t deliver the experience that big fans of the arcade version wanted, but it succeeded on its own merits.
This is by no means a perfect port of the original arcade version of Kunio kun, but it feels like that was never really the intent behind it.
There are plenty of other changes that had to be made to accommodate for memory limitations of a cartridge in 1986 though.
A better choice would really be to just turn down the volume and listen to something else, instead of this tinny and interrupted rendition of an originally good soundtrack
